Job Description

Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) seeks a Digital Fundraising Coordinator to join our creative and nimble communications team and help us defend our democracy. The Digital Fundraising Coordinator position is a unique opportunity to be on the front lines of the fight for a more ethical, equitable and accountable government, while working alongside smart, dedicated and kind people.

As a leading nonpartisan nonprofit government watchdog, CREW is dedicated to defending our democratic institutions, rooting out government corruption and fighting the influence of money in politics through legal action and communications grounded by in-depth research. CREW is looking for a Digital Fundraising Coordinator who is quick on their feet, takes initiative, is committed to our mission and cares deeply about protecting our democracy. Responsibilities include:  

  • Serving as a liaison between the Development and Digital teams, providing valuable insights into planned donor outreach activities;
  • Collaborating on sharp and timely digital fundraising content, for both grassroots and high-dollar donors that utilizes CREW’s unique voice, informs readers, and inspires donors to contribute;
  • Managing the editing, coding, targeting  and approval process for grassroots fundraising emails;
  • Coordinating with the Development team on online engagement opportunities for donors;
  • Creating an optimized user experience for online donors, including drafting, testing, and building donation pages;
  • Taking the lead on managing and growing CREW’s SMS fundraising program;
  • Managing analytics and testing for CREW’s online fundraising program;
  • Monitoring the response to CREW’s emails and texts to hone in on winning messaging & general donor analytics;
  • Brainstorming digital  messaging and programming calendar along with the digital team.

Qualifications:

  • 2 to 4+ years of digital fundraising experience, including internships, preferably in nonprofit, government, campaign or comparable setting;
  • Experience with the creation and management of time-sensitive materials;
  • A demonstrated commitment to producing superior written work;
  • An interest in government ethics and money in politics issues;
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle competing  tasks;
  • The ability to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Comfort with database management and timely updates
  • Initiative to identify needs, take charge of tasks, and get things done in an exciting, fast-paced environment; and
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with an ability to respond quickly to changing priorities.

The position is based in Washington, D.C. but will be hybrid with employees splitting their time between working at home and working in the office. The Digital Fundraising Coordinator reports to the Digital Director. 

Compensation/Benefits

The salary range for this position is $55,000-$65,000 based on experience and qualifications.
