Job Description

Mead & Hunt, a nationally recognized professional services consulting firm, has an internship opportunity for a limited-term, full-time summer or fall position within our Transportation group at our Charleston, WV office.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with conducting topographic surveys and boundary surveys
• Familiarity with data collecting and/or robotic total station
• Experience with GPS devices
• Experience conducting topographic and/or boundary surveys
• Experience conducting courthouse research related to surveys
• Assisting with construction staking

Interns should expect the following from a summer or fall internship experience with Mead & Hunt:

• Exposure to projects and people in all of our transportation groups
• Collaborate with project managers and colleagues on multiple transportation projects that vary in size and scope while developing familiarity with the federal, state, and local design standards
• Utilize technical software programs to analyze, prepare, and quality check client deliverables.
• Field observations and data collection
• Assist with preparation of technical reports and memos
• Participation in technical and client meetings
• Fun team-building activities that will allow you to network with professionals and interns alike

Interns will be expected to visit project sites for data collection as well as out-of-office meetings and events. Therefore, a valid driver’s license is recommended.

The successful candidate :

• Must have completed at least two semesters of college-level coursework in civil engineering or a related field.

Hourly Rate Range: $19.00 to $25.00 – Actual compensation may vary due to other factors such as: experience, skill set or location.
