Our Team builds and delivers highly secure network security frameworks to protect our customers. We collaborate to create next-generation initiatives supporting automation, deployment, and monitoring of 3rd party cloud infrastructure.

In this role you will provide advanced cloud engineering for the top-of-the-line security products on the market. You will be focusing on a cutting-edge suite of services to ensure application and network performance. But also reliability and security for users connecting through the Akamai Zero Trust platform.
As a Site Reliability Engineer II, you will be responsible for:
+ Deploying, managing, and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters on cloud-hosted virtual machines.
+ Using Argo CD to manage application deployments via GitOps.
+ Contributing to the design and implementation of high availability patterns including redundancy, failover, and distributed architecture
+ Defining and managing infrastructure using SaltStack or a comparable configuration management tool to ensure repeatability and traceability.
+ Implementing effective alerting, instrumentation, and service-level objectives (SLOs).
+ Administering and optimizing Linux-based systems (Ubuntu/Debian).
+ Managing DNS records, troubleshoot resolution issues, and support service discovery mechanisms
+ Building tools and scripts in Bash, Python, or Go to automate routine tasks and system workflows.
**Do what you love**
To be successful in this role you will:
+ 3+ years experience in DevOps practices with proficiency in Kubernetes and "hands -on" methodologies
+ Have a foundation in Linux systems administration (troubleshooting, tuning, process management).
+ Show familiarity with Prometheus, Grafana, and Sensu for metrics and alerting.
+ Have proven experience configuring and debugging iptables, networking, and DNS (e.g., A/CNAME/TTL/SRV records).
+ Show an understanding of HA system design and distributed failure modes.
+ Have scripting and automation using Bash, Python, or Go.
+ Show familiarity with Git-based workflows, CI/CD pipelines, and container lifecycle.

**Compensation**
Akamai is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. For US based candidates only - the base salary for this position ranges from $83,800 - $174,200/year; a candidate's salary is determined by various factors including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and location. Compensation for candidates outside the US will vary. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of annual bonus or incentives, equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
