Together, we develop solutions that are not only best in the world, but best for the world. **Job Description** **AECOM** is actively seeking a Senior CAD Designer with water industry experience to be located in Orange County or Los Angeles County, CA. This is a technical role working with engineers and project managers on a variety of projects within the water resources, dams/reservoirs, and municipal water/wastewater infrastructure markets. Candidates can expect a diverse set of project challenges focused on infrastructure design and drafting for pump stations, pipelines, water/wastewater treatment facilities, drainage facilities, hydraulic structures, and dams. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: + Extensive experience with Autodesk Civil 3D through release 2024, with an emphasis on complex and advanced surface modeling capabilities. + Experience with MicroStation Connect or V8i editions is a plus. + Ability to take general direction and simple sketches from engineers to then develop design criteria and progress through all stages of design. + Dams - Grading design and surface modeling for earth-fill, rockfill, conventional concrete and RCC embankments, quarries, spillways, outlet works, foundations and drains. + Civil/Site- Site development, access roads, drainage channels, jurisdictional and non-jurisdictional dams, slope stabilization, retaining walls, detention ponds, land development, surface drainage, and stream restoration. + Prepare detailed calculation packages for earthwork quantities, reservoir storage capacity, and tailing storage. + Ability to process a variety of data sources to build existing base surfaces from LiDAR, survey points, breaklines, DEMs, and contours. + Detailed understanding of coordinate systems and the ability to transform data from one system to another. + Data management of survey and client data through the project life cycle. + Works under limited supervision. + Performs both routine and non-routine, complex design assignments that require judgment in resolving issues or making recommendations. + Field and survey experience a plus. + Responsible for providing leadership and direction of specific CAD technologies assigned to the project team. + Leads the performance of investigations, studies, and the development of designs for a variety of large and complex infrastructure projects. **Qualifications** **Minimum Requirements** + BA/BS and 8 years of relevant industry experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. + Must possess a valid driver's license **Preferred Qualifications** + BA/BS and 10 years of relevant industry experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education. + Strong technical progression within civil engineering and design. + Comprehensive knowledge of industry standards. + Experience with other software a plus: + Microsoft Office suite; BIM360; ProjectWise; Microsoft Excel; Google Earth; ESRI GIS; InfraWorks; AutoTURN Vehicle Tracking; MicroStation, and OpenRoads **Additional Information** + No relocation will be offered for this role + No sponsorship is available for this role Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications.
