Job Description

The Logistics Market Analyst will play a critical role in assessing market conditions and the economic landscape, with a focus on both domestic and international logistics activities. This position is responsible for continuously evaluating logistics efficiency, tracking industry trends, and producing comprehensive market research reports for internal stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with strong industry network, adept at interpreting data from various sources, and possess excellent written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Market Analysis:
    • Monitor and analyze current market conditions, including trends, pricing, supply chain disruptions, and economic indicators that affect logistics.
    • Gather and interpret data from industry publications, government reports, and other reliable sources.
    • Track competitor activities, emerging technologies, and changes in regulations that may impact logistics operations.
  • Logistics Evaluation:
    • Continuously assess the efficiency of logistics activities, including both international and domestic transportation, warehousing, and supply chain performance.
    • Identify areas for improvement in logistics processes and suggest optimization strategies.
    • Collaborate with operations teams to ensure that market insights are integrated into logistics strategies.
  • Market Research and Reporting:
    • Prepare, write, and edit regular internal market research publications that provide market insights, industry trends, actionable recommendations, and the latest rumors and news.
    • Develop presentations and reports to communicate findings to key stakeholders and leadership teams.
    • Stay updated with the latest industry news and developments to ensure reports reflect current market conditions.
  • Networking and Industry Engagement:
    • Build and maintain a network within the logistics and supply chain industry to stay informed of market dynamics and emerging trends.
    • Attend relevant industry conferences, webinars, and networking events to expand industry knowledge and connections.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required.
  • 5+ years of experience in market analysis, logistics, supply chain, or a related role.
  • 3+ years of experience with strong understanding and knowledge in global and domestic logistics market and supply chain
  • Excellent research and data analysis skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information into clear, actionable insights.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint; experience with market analysis tools is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience writing market reports or similar publications.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams including Samsung SDS HQ Korea.
  • May be required to work additional hours outside of regularly scheduled business hours or weekend or holidays to meet business needs
  • Travel %: Ability to travel up to 10%
