Job Description

Willamette Valley Vineyards Estate in the Salem Hills is looking for   a Lead Tasting Room Associate  to be a part of our wine journey at our beautiful Estate.

Lead Tasting Room Server Position Overview:

This position is responsible for creating a world-class experience for our guests, while communicating the commitment and history of Willamette Valley Vineyards with a consistent and impactful brand message. You will deliver an unforgettable guest journey through pouring wines, sharing our stories, and promoting the sale of wine and club memberships.

Primary Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

  • Lead the Tasting Room team to increase wine sales, and uphold Willamette Valley Vineyard's company culture
  • Greet visitors and offer a welcome pour.
  • Describe wines, winemaking techniques, and winery history.
  • Promote the sale of wine, non-wine merchandise, and the Wine Club.
  • Handle routine purchasing transactions, which includes operating cash registers and accounting for daily sales throughout the day.
  • Process wine orders.
  • Maintain non-wine merchandise, which includes folding clothes, stocking shelves, etc.
  • Maintain supply of clean glasses, washing and drying racks of glasses throughout the day.
  • Maintain daily supplies, which include bags, wine carriers, shippers, brochures, etc.
  • Expedite and run food to guests in absence of a Food Runner.
  • General housekeeping responsibilities, which include cleaning work area, wiping counters, dusting, busing tables, refilling water stations, etc.
  • Assist with On-site events.
  • Duties: Act as PIC in the absence of a Tasting Room Manager.

Must be able to:

  • Able to stand for long periods of time & work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to lift 40lbs.
  • Available to work peak tourism and high traffic times including holidays, weekends, & evenings.
  • Available to work on-site events.
  • Flexible and willing to work in a continually changing environment
  • Have a valid/current OLCC and Food Handler’s Card (or be willing to obtain one prior to start date).
  • Communicate through active listening skills and gather insight into human behavior.

Requirements :`

  • Previous leadership experience.
  • Excellent, detail-oriented customer service & time management skills.
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to multi-task, work independently and as part of a team, and build dynamics and synergy across departments
  • The ability to use point-of-sale (POS) systems, Google services, & Microsoft Office Suite.
  • High school diploma or similar.
  • A valid/current OLCC and Food Handlers Card ( REQUIRED prior to start date).
  • Open availability on weekends, holidays
