Are you an experienced filmmaker with a passion for mentoring the next generation of storytellers? We're looking for a creative and knowledgeable Editing Instructor to join our faculty for the Summer 2024 semester. This role offers an opportunity to work with aspiring filmmakers in a supportive, project-driven learning environment.
What We're Looking For:
We are seeking an Editing Instructor who:
Holds a bachelor's degree in filmmaking (or a related field) and has at least five (5) years of professional experience in the film industry.
Has a strong editing portfolio/reel showcasing top-quality work.
Is proficient with Adobe Premiere (Adobe Certified Instructor status is a plus).
Is familiar with professional workflows, including HD and 4K footage.
Is comfortable with online teaching and willing to collaborate with our online learning specialist to design effective remote courses.
Values mentorship, enjoys fostering communication, and champions diversity, equality, and inclusion.
Teaching experience is not required but will be considered an added advantage.
Responsibilities:
As an Editing Instructor, you will:
Develop course curricula in collaboration with the Dean, tailoring content to meet students' learning needs.
Create a supportive and engaging environment that inspires students to produce their best work.
Deliver 6+ hours of instruction per week during the 15-week semester.
Provide personalized support to students through one-on-one meetings and feedback sessions.
Participate in bi-monthly faculty meetings and collaborate with teaching assistants.
Manage student attendance and grading with the administration's assistance.
Develop and refine course syllabi to ensure alignment with learning goals.
