Alpha Phi is seeking an experienced and strategic Chief Financial Officer to serve our executive leadership team, collectively overseeing different functional areas while working together on overall business strategy and execution. The ideal candidate will provide financial leadership and partner with senior management to develop and implement financial strategies to support the company’s growth objectives. The CFO will oversee all financial operations, including accounting, financial planning, and analysis, playing a critical role in shaping our financial future and ensuring long-term sustainability.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic financial leadership and serve as the trusted advisor to the Executive Director and Board of Directors
  • Lead the development of financial strategies and plans aligned with short- and long-term objectives
  • Oversee financial operations, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting and reporting
  • Direct treasury functions including cash management, investment, and banking relationships
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and implement robust internal controls
  • Build and mentor a high-performance finance team
  • Use solid financial knowledge and business acumen to build financial models, interpret data, draw conclusions, and make recommendations that deliver results and drive improvements
  • Prepare, analyze and distribute appropriate Fraternity and 1872 Properties of Alpha Phi (Alpha Phi International’s housing arm) financial reports and presentations including: Profit & Loss reports, loan receivables reports (quarterly), summaries of existing and potential Fraternity guaranties (monthly), individual project projections and reports (monthly), investment recaps (quarterly), International Executive Board (IEB) financial presentations, and all projections, including, but not limited to, five-year, investment portfolios, and cash flow
  • Analyze the financial impact of proposed capital events on performance (e.g. housing projects, asset dispositions, loan refinancing, etc.)
  • In collaboration with the Director of Accounting, strategically manage and perform analysis to ensure present and
  • future financial performance is consistent with forecasts and identify risks and opportunities to the plan
  • Highlight and identify risks/impediments in the portfolio and lead the development of subsequent actions to minimize/mitigate impact
  • Develop financial feasibility analyses and funding plans for all housing projects, including identifying funding sources, coordinating financing requirements
  • Act as primary staff liaison to the Finance & Audit Standing Committee (including preparing agendas, memos, and reference materials)

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or MBA preferred
  • 5+ years of financial leadership experience, showing the ability to lead and manage finance teams through periods of transition and growth. Industry experience in property/real estate management portfolios a plus
  • Experience in financial modeling, trends, and developing insights
  • PMP and/or Six Sigma certification or experience a plus
  • Strong supervisory and management skills, experience managing a team and/or accounting department in a fast-paced organization
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven self-starter with excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and evaluation skills. Ability to lead projects independently

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift 10 pounds at times
  • Travel: 10%
